Blei ∙ plomb ∙ piombo ∙ plomo
group IV: RH4, RO2
- melting point: 327.502°C
- boiling point: 1740°C
- density: 11.34 g/cm³
Johannes Gutenberg, in 1439, used lead from galena, tin from cassiterite and antimony from stibnite in his type alloy.
The addition of 12 % of antimony lowers the melting point of lead to 250°C.
